Beach Towns Part 3
Hello,
I am continuing on with my project documenting beach towns, with photos from two more trips captured in this post. Both in Wales, we have photos first from Barry Island, then Llandudno.
A challenge with this project is its seasonal nature. Ultimately, these settings are much more interesting around the summer, when there are actually people around - and it’s more likely to be sunny for some good light. Nonetheless, I’m trying to take the opportunities when they arrive to travel to some new places, as I’m still really in a situation of shooting as much as possible, with an eye to narrowing it down at a later stage.
There aren’t many photos from these trips which really stick out to me, but Barry Island in particular will be quite easy for me to revisit in the summer when it will, hopefully, be busy.
There are also some miscellaneous other photos here which I’ve added afterwards, which includes some from Bristol, and some from a few weekend trips away over the past few months.
Most of these photos are shot using my usual combination of my Minolta 35mm camera and my Fuji medium format one. I also recently picked up a Minolta Riva Zoom point and shoot, and there are a small number of photos here from that. It’s mostly been a party/night out camera so far, and I’ve decided not to include those photos here.
Anyway, to start us off, here are some photos from Barry Island:
And here are some photos from Llandudno. I was disappointed that the pier was entirely closed when I went. However, I shouldn’t be too surprised, given it was the start of January. Hopefully another opportunity to get there will arise!
As mentioned, I’ve also been out shooting a bit more in Bristol recently. This has been, in part, just to finish off some rolls of film which had been lying around for too long, but I’m also trying to get more into the habit of just taking a camera out with me as much as possible. There are also some photos here from North Devon, Liverpool, and Falmouth.
And, finally, here is a collection of my favourites:
