Beach Towns and some other bits
Hello,
It has been a while but I have actually taken quite a lot of photos in that time, just without the time to put a blog post together really. This post features photos taken across 3 days: St Pauls Carnival in Bristol, a trip to Weymouth beach, and the Bogsnorkelling World Championships in Llanwrtyd Wells. This is the one of two posts I am putting up today, the other features photos from two trips to France earlier this year which I also hadn’t got round to sharing. These photos come from one roll of Portra 400 through my Minolta 404si Dynax and another through my Fuji GA645Zi.
I’ll start with St Pauls Carnival, as I like to go chronologically. I don’t feel that I got any real stand-out photos from this day, but it was a really interesting community-led event, and so it still felt good to capture some of the organised chaos of the streets.
Next up, we’ll have the photos from my day trip down to Weymouth, which is part of my ongoing “Beach Towns” series. It was a long journey to spend not an awful lot of time in Weymouth really, but I am happy enough with the photos I got to consider it worthwhile. Unfortunately, this was my only opportunity to go a beach town over the summer, which is a shame because this is the time when they really come alive with people and the kinds of beach paraphernalia which makes for more interesting photos. Anyway, here they are…
Finally, we have the photos from the Bogsnorkelling World Championships in Llanwrtyd Wells. This is the first year that I’ve had the pleasure of attending this event, which was probably the most bizarre event I’ve ever been to. But it was also lovely — everyone was remarkably friendly, many of them were equally odd. These two characteristics together made for it to be pretty photographable, though being at the end of both rolls of film meant that I didn’t snap as freely as I would probably have liked.
As always, here are my favourites. There are a fair few this time, which is always good. My main gripe with the photos from this post is that I think the editing is quite inconsistent, which is partly because the photos, particularly from the beach, came through a little funny. But anyway still some good frames! Especially the one I would call “Man Looks Out At Sea”. I hope it’s clear what one that is anyway…
Thank you for checking out this post on the blog. Let me know which photo was your fave!
